The 22,080grt Bahamian flagged Marco Polo with her handsome traditional profile, beautiful teak decks and distinctive dark blue hull and deep draft is a fully stabilised and air conditioned classic ocean liner, extensively re-built in 1993 for the discerning premium cruise market. She can accommodate up to 850 guests and has eight passenger decks, serviced by three main lobbies and four lifts.

 

Her wide range of public facilities include the impressive Waldorf Restaurant offering a traditional two sitting fixed time dining option and, as an alternative more informal experience, the stylish Marco's Restaurant. There are five principal lounge areas. The Magellan Deck offers the theatre style Marco Polo Lounge; the elegant Captain's Club, a perfect venue for pre-dinner cocktails with the resident pianist; the relaxing Palm Garden, a quiet spot with wonderful panoramic ocean views; and the stylish Columbus Lounge where the head barman will soon get to know your favourite drink. Completing the quintet is Scott’s Bar, an ideal spot for night owls, located on Amundsen Deck. Other amenities include the ships well stocked Livingston Library, the Nansen Card Room, an Internet Café a shopping arcade, and the beautiful appointed Jade Wellness Centre, which offers hairdressing & beauty treatments, fitness and exercise equipment, sauna and massage facilities. There is an outdoor swimming pool, three whirlpools and in keeping with her heritage, a traditional walk around promenade deck.

 

Staterooms have twin beds, TV, hair dryer, individual air-conditioning, direct-dial phone, spacious closet, mirrored dressing table, music console, personal safe and bathroom with shower. Layouts may vary within each grade

Arriving in the great natural harbour at Invergordon on Scotland's rugged East Coast. Step ashore to explore, or join a shore excursion.

+Stornoway, Island of Lewis 07.30hrs – 18.00hrs

After sailing the scenic waters of Scotland's Western Isles, you arrive in Stornoway, capital of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. These beautiful, unspoilt islands have been inhabited for over 6,000 years, retaining a rich timeless culture. You may like to join the excursion to the mysterious and ancient standing stones at Callanish, thought to be nearly 4,000 years old.

This beautiful island of Mull offers a spectacular coastline, breathtaking scenery, and abundant wildlife. The small town of Tobermory, with its picturesque, multicoloured houses that encircling the waterfront, nearby is the famous Duart Castle, seat of Maclean Clan.

 

Day 6

Dublin 08.00hrs – 17.45hrs

Today you are in Dublin - great city of culture and learning; home to many poets like Oscar Wilde, James Joyce, Swift and Yeats. Bernard Shaw was also born in Dublin. Grafton street and O'Connell Streets teem with shoppers, and the famous bars and pubs buzz with the energy of locals and visitors alike.

+Isles of Scilly - St Mary’s 09.00hrs – 20.00hrs

This morning finds you in the fabled Isles of Scilly. Your ship anchors in still blue waters, giving you the opportunity to go ashore to explore Hugh Town on St Mary's, the world famous Abbey Gardens of Tresco house Britain's finest subtropical plant collection.

 

Day 8

+Guernsey – St Peter Port 07.30hrs – 18.00hrs

Guernsey's St Peter Port welcomes the Marco Polo and the day can be spent enjoying the pleasures of this beautiful Channel Isle. Don't miss 800-year-old Castle Cornet, which guards the entrance to the harbour, nor the medieval, cobbled central quarter of St Peter Port, where countless shops and colourful stalls offer tax-free gifts.

 

Day 9

Honfleur – France 09.00hrs – 17.00hrs

Arriving in the Exquisite Honfleur, with its picturesque harbour surrounded by terraces of gabled houses, lies at the mouth of the river Seine, and is the gateway to the stunning Normandy countryside. Explore this favourite retreat of French Impressionists, or venture further afield, perhaps to the famous Normandy beaches or to the historic town of Rouen, famous for 'Joan of Arc'.

 

Day 10

Tilbury 08.00hrs

 

This fascinating cruise of contrasts between the ‘old world’ of the Scandinavian kingdoms and the ‘new world’ of the former communist states of Russia and Estonia offers the opportunity for you to discover the history and culture of the countries bordering the Baltic Sea.

  8. All staterooms feature 110v or 220v current and have an electrical socket to allow small appliances such as electric shavers, electric rollers and curling tongs to be used. It is advisable to bring a UK three pin to European round two pin universal adapters in order to access the electrical supply in the rooms.
